Membership Suspension Policy
(Medical Grounds)
Policy Statement
Members of Wanstead Golf Club may request a temporary suspension of their membership on medical grounds, subject to the terms outlined below. This policy ensures fairness to all members while supporting those facing genuine health-related challenges.
Eligibility and Terms
Suspension Period
- A member may apply for a suspension of up to 3 months due to a medical condition that prevents them from playing golf.
- The request must be made in writing to the Office, including a brief explanation of the medical issue and supporting documentation from a medical professional.
- No further extensions to this policy apply.
- Members are permitted to place their membership on hold once during the lifetime of their membership.
Maximum Duration
- The total duration of suspended membership for medical reasons must not exceed 3 consecutive months.
Conditions of Suspension
- Suspension will take effect from the first day of the month following the date the club receives the written suspension request. All membership fees up to the effective date of suspension remain payable.
- During the suspension period, the member will not be liable for membership fees and will not have access to the course facilities or competitions.
- During the suspension period, the member will be liable for ancillary fees including locker rental and trolley store rental, and will have access to the clubhouse facilities including the restaurant and sports bar.
- Membership will automatically resume at the end of the approved suspension period.
- If a member is unable to resume after 3 months, they may be offered alternative membership options or invited to reapply for membership when ready.
